Opportunity

Inturn was an established SaaS provider to the retail industry and delivered a platform to manage the buying and selling of excess retail inventory. They reinvented the Excess Inventory Market by allowing brands to efficiently sell slow-moving and excess inventory to retailers and recover cash faster. They started in 2013 and served some of the largest companies in the industry. Inturn was purchased in 2023 and no longer exists as its own entity. The work was being done on the legacy system that was built in PHP, as well as building new features and also creating a NextGen version of their platform to take advantage of the performance and efficiencies of new technologies. They needed a dedicated team that could work with both platforms.

Solution

Ballast Lane Applications was engaged to establish a core engineering team, alongside dedicated Quality Assurance resources, tasked with bolstering and enhancing their PHP-based platform. Our collaborative team seamlessly integrated with their in-house team, jointly working on the development of features and addressing the ongoing requirements of their customers. This collaboration extended to occasional after-hours and weekend support, ensuring uninterrupted operations and consistent customer satisfaction. Inturn had a sophisticated approach to managing engineering with world-class product management and customer success teams. The BLA team works shoulder to shoulder with this team to develop new features and support current customer needs - including occasional after hours and weekend support to ensure continuous operations.
