BLA business analysts (BAs) have always managed the delivery of features they have defined. But, now we are proud to announce the formal recognition of that skill as our entire BA team has earned the 'Certified ScrumMaster' designation from ScrumAlliance.
In the interest of continuous learning, a BLA core value, this is the first part of a series of certifications the BA team plans to achieve. The major benefit of this certification is to make sure the BAs work together as a team and as individuals and apply a consistent set of processes across all our clients.
The BAs with the mind frame of Scrum adhere to the set of values, principles, and practices that aligns to project delivery in short cycles. In conjunction with our other business groups, BAs contribute with consistency and best practices in software development methodologies.
Thanks to the certification, we can now ensure our BA team:
- Understands Scrum methodology and Agile philosophy.
- Has conducted an in-depth look into Scrum roles, artifacts, and events.
- Recognizes how the “Definition of Done” impacts the size of user stories and sprints.
- Plans commitments in a sprint with proper use of planning, execution, review, and retrospectives.
We are proud of the benefits this certification brings our business analysts. First, being globally acknowledged certification by the reputable Scrum Alliance, our BAs understand the level of investment we make in their career developement and then in turn will invest in the projects they are working on and the customers they are working with. Second, building on top of a strong organization foundation at BLA, everyone in the organization moves in the same direction, helping the organization rely on Scrum standards to bring about consistency and uniformity of value amongst everyone and department in the organization.
Larry Ehrhardt, BLA's CEO, recognizes the important work of BAs and has shared the following with our team and clients:
“The skills of a business analyst are very much needed and essential in the life cycle of software development. A business analyst handles a very crucial role in the scrum environment. Being Scrum Master certified, our BAs have a foundational understanding of the Scrum mindset. This mindset guides the way they look at business problems to rapid delivery, collaboration with the team, avoiding waste and producing high quality solutions.”
Well done team!
